Wolvesey Lodge is a vibrant Masonic Lodge based in Winchester, Hampshire
With a strong focus on harmony, integrity and philanthropy, we welcome men of all backgrounds to join us and discover new, lifelong friends and Brothers

what is freemasonry?
One of the oldest secular social and charitable organisations in the world, modern Freemasonry’s roots lie in the traditions of the medieval stonemasons who built our castles and cathedrals
For Freemasons, there are four important values that help define their path through life: Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Service.
In today’s world filled with uncertainty, these principles ring as true now as they have at any point in the organisation’s history
Wolvesey Lodge is based in the Winchester Masonic Centre and has an active membership which takes pride in the performance of its ceremonies as well as a growing social calendar which includes a monthly curry club, group visits to other lodges and a variety of other trips such as theatre nights and other social events with our families and friends

our members
Membership of Wolvesey Lodge is open to any man over the age of 18, regardless of their religion or race
Our members mostly live in, or close to Winchester, although we have some who travel from as far away as London and the Midlands!
our meetings
Our meetings are usually split into two parts, the ceremony and the Festive Board
Ceremonies are where we share the stories and traditions of Freemasonry and progress members through the Degrees of the Craft
The Festive Board is the informal dinner enjoyed when the ceremony is complete
our social calendar
We aim to keep a full schedule of social events throughout the year, including during the months when the Lodge doesn’t formally meet
Events include the famous Wolvesey Curry Club, theatre evenings and visits to other lodges to meet new Brothers and make new friends
our schedule
We meet on the third Thursday of the month, seven times each year from September through April with a break in December
Some members have an active role in our ceremonies (this is entirely optional), and may attend rehearsals once or twice per month when the lodge is meeting
our fees
Despite the name, sadly Freemasonry isn’t free!
Membership for 2024 costs £155 (pro rata depending when you join) plus a one-time joining fee
Festive Boards currently cost £17 for a three-course meal
